Redneck Wedding 2011

Last Saturday, I photographed my first wedding. My husband and I drove to Milledgeville, GA; which if you didn’t know already, is in the middle of nowhere. It took us about 2 hours to get there and when we finally arrived at the “South Creek Mud Bog”, where the wedding would be located. Keep in mind this place is like a park with dirt road trails to ride four wheeler’s and a giant pit of mud where rednecks from all over come to drive their pick-up trucks with overly large monster tires and clad with rebel flags and other miscellaneous redneck symbols. They all gather around the mud pit, drinking bud light and watch the trucks speed through the mud while also being covered in mud. It was an experience I will remember, that’s for sure.
The wedding itself went well although I was extremely nervous. The night before I spent much time looking over a certain photographers work. Now keep in mind, they have over 10 years experience and is amazing; I kept stressing over how my photography wasn’t up to par with theirs. I eventually got over it and enjoyed myself even though it was quite hot outside. The bride was clad in a camouflage wedding gown and the brides maids in jeans with holes that had camouflage leggings underneath and tank tops. The wedding cake was camouflage and the DJ blasted much country music. They were all great people and it was a happy wedding. All in all it was a great experience and the family was very happy with my photographs.
